  • Sister Talk

So I was bored enough to read over a conversation I was having with my sister on Meebo.  And I say some pretty weird things.  For one...

[10:18] Cookie: And everyone knows you're only friends with people IRL if you're friends with them on Facebook!

I mean, really, I guess I might just be a sad person to have gotten sucked into this Internet social networking phenomena after I quit MySpace, but Facebook slowly crept up my crack.  At first, it was just a place to friends with people who were in different colleges.  Then, they started to include people who went to community colleges.  Then, they allowed people in high schools to join.  Now all of a sudden, friends, aunts and uncles, and weirdos from anywhere are joining!  Now, it's just like MySpace except people can't customize layouts for their profiles and sneak crazy ad pop-ups everywhere.  Sigh, the self-realization of checking my Facebook every time I receive an email saying someone commented on something makes me feel like a sad, sad person.

[14:50] Cookie: How can we prove that we're blood-related if we both don't like bacon!?

Ah, but seriously!  My sister doesn't like bacon.  How can this be!?!?  This will possibly be in a comic I make.  If I ever get around to making one.

    [15:46] Cookie: I pooped.

I find it is my duty (pfft, duty) as a sister to inform my sister of every time I have a bowel movement.  Whether it's TMI for her or not...

  • Melon Ice Candy

Alright, so the days have been consistently warm these past couple of weeks here.  Yesterday was so hot!  That's where I finally got the nerve to make melon ice candy since I asked my parents to buy me these bags from the Philippines ages ago.  They've been sitting in a kitchen drawer taunting my patience...the stuff is really easy to make, but putting them into these bags took two hours!  I filled up about 30 of them!  Here's what they look like before I placed them in the freezer.

I mentioned this on my Facebook, but I'm going to try them when I get home.  If they taste super yummy, I'm going to post my first recipe ever on AllRecipes!  It's funny because this is so easy to make, but there aren't many places to find the recipe online.  Also, I guess since it's hard to find these bags here in the States, I would think that even popsicle molds will suffice for this!

  • June Already?!

I can't believe it's already June!  It's been a year since I started my new job!  Woot!

What's been going on?  Nothing really.  Except the weather has been great here in Seattle.  It's been so nice!  It's funny because I thought that seeing nice weather like this would make me want to go for a jog outside on the weekends, but instead, I end up sleeping in for another 3 or 4 hours - ie, I get out of bed between around 12-2 PM.  It just feels so nice!  I love summer!

  • With a Sword?

Hmmm, fencing classes.  I did some research and it looks like there may be some classes available around the Seattle area.  I even managed to watch some videos on YouTube just for kicks!  It's so cool!  I want to try, I want to try, I want to try!  XD

But alas, the pole dancing and personal training has taken up my time. Of course I love doing these two things so I can't just give em up.  I think I will wait until next year.  Maybe by then, I will have gained enough strength and stamina so that I won't be some wimpy dainty chick that can't even hold her ground with a sword.  Oooooooohhhhh...

    SWORDS!

  • Where Did You Go, My Lovely?

Challenge me to Street Fighter 4.  I guarantee you'll feel better about yourself.  >.<  Honestly, I suck at Street Fighter.  Apparently, gamers are rejoicing and competing everywhere.  But, I suck really bad.  Really bad.

WoW, the gym, and the pole have taken over my life!  That's what I've been doing nowadays.

I think I've mastered the pole sit.  For those that still don't understand what moves I'm talking about, I will post some pics of KT Coates because her DVD's are awesome...

My thighs don't hurt as much anymore and I don't bruise as easily.  I can climb too!  I think the next thing I'll start trying to teach myself is the cross knee release which looks something like this.

There's a YouTube video of someone showing how to do this, but I don't think I'll be bending backwards that far for awhile.  It's scary!

At the gym, I've started seeing a trainer.  He reminds me of Turk from Scrubs.  He's funny, but I hate him afterwards coz I end up super sore and then I say to him with a smile, "I hate you.  See you tomorrow!"  I am afraid to make jokes that might offend him sometimes.  :(

My progression in WoW is okay, I think.  We just changed our guild name because some guildies thought that our original name didn't sound "serious" enough and we looked like scrubs.  Life without CoH spamming is going okay, but at least I got my Chef title!!!  I am now Chef Leftovers in Mug'Thol!  Woot!

  • Wishful Healthy Food

Food that I wish was healthy with low calories and that we can eat in plentiful amounts:

    • Nachos - I love cheese!  And I love salty chips!
    • Prime rib steak - Omg, I love meat.  And the smell of a good prime rib steak with fresh peppercorn seasoning slow roasted for hours on end...it makes my mouth water.
    • Filipino food - So much flavor!  Must be all the fat from the meat, the deep frying, and high cholesterol.
    • Dim sum - Why they put them on tiny plates when I end up ordering three at a time, I'll never know.
    • Spam - With rice, ramen, or in a freedom burger!  They are delicious.
    • Breakfast sandwiches - Even now I rarely eat them, but they are yummy!
    • BBQ pork over rice - There's this really great place in I-District/Downtown Seattle that my friend took me to.  It's so cheap for like $5 and the portions are huge!
    • Honey walnut prawns - I can make these myself.  You don't want to know what the ingredients are like...but it's safe to say it still tastes good!
    • Pho - More MSG please.
    • Mushroom swiss burgers - Whenever they have burgers like this in a restaurant, I swear, this is the only burger I've got my eyes on.  Like a vulture.
    • Chipotle burritos - Honestly, I love the barbacoa beef.  But since I have to eat a little healthier, I usually go for the chicken instead.  And I also make it a bowl.  But bowls are a lot easier to eat!
    • Avocado milkshake bubble tea - They don't say it, but I bet they put like a pound of sugar in it.  But I love it anyway.
    • Crab - Need I say more?
    Yummmmm.

  • Chopsticks Improvision

Today I was in a rush during my lunch hour.  I had to walk 3 blocks to get to the bus stop, wait for the bus, get to I-District, then walk to the Metro Customer Services Sales Desk to buy my own bus pass because my boss forgot to purchase them last month.  That line took FOREVER to move.  Not only that, but I was stuck trying to hold my place in line while this homeless horse-crap-smelling woman tried to invade my personal bubble or try to be sneaky to cut in front of me.  Then, afterwards, I went to Uwajimaya to buy some sushi for lunch.  When I finally got back to the office...I forgot the freakin' chopsticks.

And no one uses chopsticks in the office, so there weren't any in the kitchenette either.  T-T  Actually, there were no eating utensils to use, period.

I did, however, find some coffee stirrer thingies to use...so I taped three together to make one chopstick.  I thought it would work.

    It looked like it works...

But it was a pain in the ass to hold.  -_-  Success?  No, I found my silver spoon in my desk that I used to eat my yogurt with, washed it, and ate sushi with a spoon.  A spoon!  Yes - blasphemous indeed.

  • No Splits, Yet

Why, why, why!?!?  I want to be able to do the splits.  Maybe I'm supposed to be dedicating more time to stretching the legs, but it takes forever!  How are people able to just abruptly do the splits like it doesn't hurt at all!?  Ooy.  I can't even do a full side splits and it still hurts.  I guess it could have been because I stopped going to yoga class, but that's because I've only had time on my schedule to do my cardio and play with Fish.

In other news, I think my pole sit is improving.  Soon, my skin should be conditioned to do it with no hands and I can stay there forever, right?  Right?!?!  But from learning it along with the pole climb, I have been getting bruises and pole burns all over my knees, calves, and thighs.  It's brutal, but it hurts so good.  Luckily, we play the music really loud so that you don't hear all my grunting and whining.

Oh, and I would add pictures if I wasn't such a fattie.  I'd like to say everything I'm learning is impressive, but not impressive enough to oversee the rolls on my stomach and the size of my thunder thighs at the moment.  Maybe in a couple of months - give or take.

@Littlemshelpful - They are! I'm glad you like them. It's from the magic of the sharpies lying around my desk, recycled paper, and the power of my imagination. Nyahaha.
